Who cares who's dating who or who's not dating who? Really, it's all pretty stupid.
The dreaded shopping trip is coming up. I'm not looking forward to that at all. Mama will try to get me in something pink or with flowers or at least with ribbons, which wasn't even cool when I was five. Of course, when I was five I could somewhat get away with running outside to play and getting it dirty. Now I'm supposed to know better. Maybe I can convince her to let me wear dress robes... A long shot, but that'd be more fun. |

I broke my mirror today. Sarah came in and surprised me, and I dropped it. It wouldn't be a very big deal, I don't use it much, except it's part of the brush set Mama gave me. Does anyone know any glass-repairing spells? I'd really like to get it fixed. And I don't want to tell Mama and Daddy that I broke it, even if it was an accident. |

Yesterday was great! I love flying, nothing else compares. I need to do homework this afternoon, though. Such a bummer. I'd love school if it weren't for homework; class itself isn't so bad. I really wish Uncle Bill didn't assign so much, but at least he makes up for it in class. |

I'm going flying today! I'm so excited! It feels like it's been ages, and it definitely has been since I last flew around Hogwarts. I love going over the castle. And the lake's so peaceful when you can fly over it. If it only it were clearer. Or perhaps just less deep. And warmer; it'd be nice to go swimming before it gets too cold. Oh well, you can't have everything. |

Ugh, who wants to go to a dance? A bunch of boys looking for the excuse to either ogle or stammer at you, depending which lot they're from. And then you step on each others toes while trying to come up with some drivel to talk about over obnoxious music, while ignoring everyone else around you doing the exact same bloody thing.
And the worst part is that I'd have to wear a dress! |

I think I was bitten by one of those spiders yesterday. I've got a sort of a strange rash on my leg, just a bit above my ankle. I don't remember being bitten, but everything was chaotic, so that doesn't mean much. They're not poisonous, or anything, I remember that much, but spider bites are always worse than other insects. Well, no point in panicking over it just yet; if it spreads more, or doesn't go away, I'll get it looked at. |

Today's CoMC class was completely out of this world! Adventure, excitement, and really wild things! We should have stuff like that happen every day. Oh, sure, some of the girls were screaming, but seriously, those spiders are the coolest things ever. And I've always thought it was stupid that they stayed in cages like that, I don't care how big they are. But someone's spell misfired and a lot of them got out, and were everywhere, and we learned how to round them up, at least those of us who weren't screaming and crying. Merlin, some of the girls in my class are so stupid. It's just a spider, really! |

Dinner time! I love the food here. As much as I love Mama, she gets distracted from cooking too easily, so we mostly have really simple meals at home. I suppose I wouldn't find cooking terribly interesting, either. Watching water boil or something fry seems really, really dull.
I really wish I didn't have to wear skirts and robes, though. They're such a pain to move around in, and fly up all the time when you try to move quickly. I'm going to kill Jamie if he starts that stupid song again the next time my hem flips up a bit. It didn't go up that far, anyway. And the teachers aren't at all sympathetic, and tell me to slow down instead. It would all be so much easier if I could just wear pants. I can hardly wait till I can change after class. |

Homework should be illegal, I swear. We're barely back, and I'm already loaded down with it! Finishing all the summer stuff was bad enough; they should at least give us some time to recover from that, and adjust to being back at school.
The new Gryffindors all look so tiny! I couldn't have been that short three years ago. At least Mum didn't cry this year like she did last year when sending Joey off. You'd have thought her world was coming to an end because her youngest was going off to school. I don't think he grew much over the summer, come to think of it; he still looks as short as any of the first years. Oh dear.
When's our first practice? I'm dying to get started playing! Maybe it'll distract me from all this blasted homework. |

SOMEONE let me copy their homework! I can't fail before I even begin fourth year! How do they expect us to get any homework done over the summer when everything's so distracting? I swear, I barely remember I even have to go to school in September, let alone that I have to write essays for September! It's cruel and unusual punishment, it must be.
I'm thrilled to be going back to playing Quidditch, though. They can keep the rest of it, but the matches are so exciting! Gryffindor has a new captain this year, so all of the other houses had better watch out. We are going to be unstoppable this year! |
